Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam paid a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III Thursday morning as part of his first state visit to the Philippines. Tan congratulated Aquino for forging the Bangsamoro peace agreement. He also recognized the contribution of 180,000 Filipinos working in Singapore. Aquino, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to Singapore, noting that it was one of the first to help the Philippines in the wake of super typhoon "Yolanda" with total aid reaching $10 million.
