MANILA, Philippines – In South Africa, a ballistics expert took to the witness stand during the murder trial of Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius. Police captain Chris Mangena, in charge of the ballistics examination in Pistorius’ house, described that the bullet holes fired through a door in the residence suggested a downward trajectory. He also told the court that only one bullet had been found inside the toilet, while the other three “found their target.” Pistorius, the Paralympic gold medalist, denies the murder charge saying he shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder. -- Mornings @ ANC, March 19, 2014.
