MANILA - Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles is asking the court that she be allowed to seek medication, and if possible be placed under hospital arrest. Napoles' lawyer Bruce Rivera said Napoles had been complaining of profuse menstrual bleeding. St. Luke’s Global City endocrinologist Michael Lim Villa, who examined Napoles, said the businesswoman's CT scan results indicate that she has ovarian tumor. Reyes said Napoles needs to undergo transvaginal ultrasound examination and further medical check-up. He said these procedures cannot be done at the Fort Sto. Domingo. He said Villa referred Napoles to obstetrician-gynecologist Elsie Badillo-Pascua who is also from St. Luke's Medical Center Global City. The Napoles camp has already filed a "motion to conduct medical examination" before the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150. "Kung after the procedure eh walang makitang emergency, pwede namang gawan ng normal medication lang, eh di babalik sa Fort Sto. Domingo si Mrs. Napoles," Reyes said. Napoles is currently detained at the Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna for a serious illegal detention case filed by former aide Benhur Luy. Plunder charges have also been filed against her before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the P10 billion pork barrel scam. - Radio dzMM, 20 February 2014
