MANILA -- Queen of All Media Kris Aquino has come to the defense of her former husband, professional basketball player James Yap, from insinuations that he was bribed to lose the game to Ginebra in Game 6 of the PBA semifinals. Yap, a member of San Mig Coffee Mixers, missed a crucial three-pointer that could have tied the game against Ginebra. The Gin Kings won, 94-91, and forced a do-or-die Game 7 on Wednesday. In her newest show "Aquino & Abunda Tonight", Aquino stressed that Yap will never sell his game. "Ito diretsong sagot. Sa matagal na panahon na nakilala ko si James Yap at nakilala ko ang pagkatao niya. Hindi niya gagawin na magbenta ng laro dahil buong buhay niya ay binuhos niya for that. He's gonna love me for this. Matutuwa siya dito sa sinasabi kong ito," Aquino told co-host Boy Abunda on Tuesday night. "Game 5 they won because of James Yap. 3-pointer di ba? Siya yung hero so bakit ganoon?" Aquino added. "As somebody who used to read the contract of James Yap, pumasok sila sa finals kahit anong benta ang sinasabi nila matutumbasan yon ng kikitain niya by making it to the finals. Ganoon kalaki ang kontrata niya. So there's no reason for him to sell the game. And at the end of the day you are as good as your last game. So tomorrow good luck James," Aquino said. Abunda teased Aquino for defending her former husband. Aquino, however, said she has "released all the anger from her heart." "I've released all anger from my heart. On Saturday happy birthday James, alagaan mo si Bimby si Josh nasa iyo sila be good. And you win tomorrow prove them wrong," Aquino said. Abunda agreed with Aquino and said Yap's injury affected his last performance. "I am not a fan of James Yap, I have no reason to be his fan ok klaro po yan. Pero sa aking paniniwala hindi po nagbenta si James Yap. Hindi po nagbenta si LA Tenorio. It happens. Sometimes you play well, sometimes you play bad," Abunda said.
