A day before their one-night only concert in Manila, the members of French alternative band Phoenix said they are excited and have waited 14 years to come to this side of the world and perform their music. In a sit-down interview with ABS-CBN News' Ginger Conejero, Phoenix is even more surprised that Filipinos are familiar with their music, including such hits as "1901" and "Too Young." Lead vocalist Thomas Mars shared that his wife, Hollywood director Sofia Coppola, lived in the Philippines in her early youth while her father, Francis Ford Coppola, was directing the film "Apocalypse Now.: Another band member also shared that he owns some of Freddie Aguilar's records, having listened to the folk singer's music in the past.
