MANILA -- Maestro Ryan Cayabyab still can't believe he was given the highest Papal Award. Cayabyab received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, the highest award given by the Pope to lay people. Only select persons are given such honor. Cayabyab was cited for his contribution to the church through his music, many of which are used in masses. "Para siyang award from the Pope and the church for the services I have rendered to the church. It just so happened that hindi ko alam na I was nominated by the Archbishop of Lingayen, Dagupan, he nominated me for all my music work for the church," Cayabyab said. -- ANC
