MANILA – A man was killed in a road rage incident in Taguig City Sunday evening. Traffic enforcer Gilbert Flores said a road altercation occurred between passengers of an AUV and a motorcycle-riding police officer along M.L. Quezon Street in Barangay Lower Bicutan at around 6:30 p.m. Flores said the AUV passengers, identified as Vindy Pamplona and Isrell Bismanos, alighted their vehicle and confronted motorcycle rider, PO1 Salphar Abbilol. The three had a verbal confrontation until one of the AUV passengers drew out a butterfly knife (balisong) and wounded Abbilol, a policeman assigned at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Camp Bagong Diwa. The attempted stabbing prompted Abbilol to fire his gun, killing Pamplona and wounding Bismanos. Bismanos was rushed to the hospital for treatment but later escaped. Abbilol, for his part, claimed the two started the altercation. "Binuksan po yung bintana, minumura kami.. Tapos nung pinapa-go na siya ng traffic enforcer, sila hindi sila nag go, kinut nila ako. Nag swerve sila hanggang sa outer lane, hinaharang yung sasakyan ko," he said. A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera could have taken the shooting, but barangay officials said it was not functioning at the time of the incident. – report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
