MANILA, Philippines – The Boston Red Sox took Game 5 of the World Series with a 3-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals to move one win away from the title. Boston broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of seventh-inning runs to support another brilliant outing by starter Jon Lester. The victory gave the Red Sox a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series with a chance to clinch the MLB crown if they win at home at Boston’s Fenway Park in Game 6 on Thursday. -- Mornings @ ANC, October 30, 2013.
