MANILA -- Organizers of the Million People March renewed their call to scrap the pork barrel system including the President's discretionary funds. Ahead of tomorrow's noise barrage in Ayala Avenue, Makati, rally organizers said government failed to meet three conditions they made in Luneta on August 26. These include scrapping all pork barrel funds, accounting for how the PDAF was spent, and investigating and prosecuting all abuses made in the past three years. "[President Aquino] is actually delayed by three years in reacting and addressing this problem... Probably in the first 100 days of his administration, President Aquino should have made a public declaration abolishing pork system and denouncing it as an evil in our society," Atty. Argee Guevarra, one of the organizers, said in an interview with "Mornings @ ANC" on Thursday. "Now they're calling DAP as Drilon, Abad and PNoy. Me, I would like to even add, it should be BADAP: Belmonte, Drilon, Abad and PNoy," he added. The organizers said they are not satisfied with ongoing investigations by the Commission on Audit (COA), adding that even the Department of Justice (DOJ) seems to be partial for excluding administration allies from charges it filed before the Office of the Ombudsman. "It's a bit clear to us that they're just running after the opposition and then using that to try and satisfy the bloodlust of the public to have somebody prosecuted," said Patricia Tan, spokesperson of the Scrap Pork Network.
