MANILA, Philippines - Vice-President Jejomar Binay is defending himself from criticisms over his attempt to negotiate a truce with MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari. Binay has insisted that his attempt to reach out to Misuari was given a green light by President Aquino. He noted that President Aquino wanted the MNLF to lay down their arms and surrender, an option that did not sit well with the MNLF. Mornings@ANC, September 17, 2013
