MANILA, Philippines – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered Sochi regional officials to provide the area with proper fail safe electricity supply for the upcoming Winter Olympics. But aside from some occasional power cuts, the Russian Prime Minister said the Sochi 2014 construction sites were almost ready or the games. To create the infrastructure in what was one of Russia’s least developed areas, almost everything had to be built from scratch in Sochi over the last six years. Thirteen official facilities are being built, including a stadium that can accommodate 40,000 people and venues for ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding and skating. Mornings @ ANC, August 9, 2013
