Chaos erupted outside a Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila as voter registration for the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections ends today. The Comelec has denied the appeal for an extension of the registration, saying the poll body has to complete the entire registration process by August 31, or 120 days before the election day, as provided by law.
