트럼프 “9월1일 대중 추가관세 예정대로 발동”..."무역전쟁 격화"
On the trade spat with China, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday local time that new tariffs on Chinese goods will kick in at the start of September.
The U.S. is expected to hit around 112 billion U.S. dollars of Chinese imports with 15 percent duties starting Sunday.
That includes consumer goods like TVs, clothes and footwear.
Trump added that trade talks between the two countries will continue and that representatives will meet in September.
The additional tariffs come amid growing concerns about slowing global growth and fears of recession in several major economies.
So far, Washington has slapped tariffs on some 250 billion dollars of Chinese goods, while Beijing has retaliated with tariffs on 110 billion dollars of U.S. imports.
