South Korea's Supreme Court is set to deliver its final verdict in the massive corruption scandal involving former President Park Geun-hye, her confidante Choi Soon-sil and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
The verdict is due at 2 p.m., Korea time on Thursday.
It comes 28 months after the former president was charged for conspiring with Choi into forcing conglomerates, including Samsung Group, to make donations to build two foundations under Choi's control.
A lower court sentenced Park and Choi to 25 years and 20 years in prison, respectively.
The rulings will be broadcast live nationwide based on grounds that it's in the public's interest.
