The United Kingdom will end European Union freedom of movement rules...immediately after it leaves the bloc on October 31st.
The Prime Minister's spokesperson said on Monday that the government instead plans tougher criminality rules for people entering the country as part of the new hardline stance.
Around three-point-six million EU citizens in the U.K. have been ordered to apply for permanent settled status.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson, however, said the country would not be hostile to immigration.
The UK is set to leave the 28-member bloc without a divorce deal in roughly ten weeks from now.
