Despite the grey skies, about 3,500 people gathered in the town of Pilsting, to get a taste of the world's biggest hamburger, which whacked a previous Guinness record at a whopping 1,164 kg (2,566lbs).
Rudi Dietl, who came up with the idea, needed about 300 assistants to transform 1,000 kilograms (2,204 lbs) of minced meat into the masterpiece burger.
According to the representative of the Guinness World Record book Lena Kuhlmann, the previous record was 914kg (2,015 lbs).
Dietl and his team said they would donate all proceeds from the hamburger feast to charity.
