NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope snapped images of the moon’s gamma-ray glow, making it appear brighter than the sun. Italy’s National Institute of Nuclear Physics scientists are using the moon as a “space-based particle detector” to study cosmic rays.
