MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) is looking into claims that two Filipinos were hit by Taiwanese nationals using a baseball bat. MECO says emotions remain high in Taiwan following the death of a Taiwanese fisherman near Batanes last week. A Filipino community leader in Taiwan says Filipinos continue to experience discrimination and warns Filipinos to be careful so they won’t become victims of harassment. ANC, May 19, 2013
