Malacanang said it has a continuing contingency plan to respond to external threats amid the renewed tension between North and South Korea.Secretary Sonny Coloma said the Philippines is maintaining a posture of vigilance and that the government is calling for a diplomatic solution to the issue.Palace spokesman Edwin Lacierda m eanwhile said President Aquino is being updated on the situation in the Korean Peninsula.Lacierda added the President has directed the foreign affairs department to make sure that Philippine officials are coordinating with Filipino communities there.North Korea has declared that it had entered a "state of war" with neighboring South Korea.South Korea has not treated its neighbor's latest threat as imminent danger.
