An Ohio man has been charged after making a threat to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
An Ohio man was charged after making threats against Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The Toledo Blade reports: "Timothy J. Ireland, Jr., 41, was charged in U.S. District Court in Toledo with being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a fugitive in possession of a firearm, and making interstate threats."
"Ireland posted on Facebook a link to an unspecified article with the caption: 'She should be shot. Can't fire me, my employer would load the gun for me,'" notes Cleveland.com, citing court records.
According to a March piece by Time magazine, Ocasio-Cortez's life has been threatened on a number of occasions. The publication reported at the time: "In her first three months in Congress, aides say, enough people have threatened to murder Ocasio-Cortez that Capitol Police trained her staff to perform risk assessments of her visitors."
"I've had mornings where I wake up & the 1st thing I do w/ my coffee is review photos of the men (it's always men) who want to kill me," she wrote in a May tweet.
