In a major political win for the Narendra Modi government, the triple talaq bill today cleared Rajya Sabha hurdle. Put to vote after a lengthy debate, the triple talaq bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha with 99 to 84 votes.

చరిత్రాత్మక ట్రిపుల్ తలాక్ బిల్లు రాజ్యసభలో ఆమోదం లభించింది. ఉభయసభల్లో ఈ బిల్లు పాస్ కావడంతో రాష్ట్రపతి ఆమోదం అనంతరం బిల్లు చట్టంగా మారనుంది. బీజేపీ నేతృత్వంలోని ఎన్డీఏ సర్కార్ తమ తొలి హయాంలో బిల్లును పార్లమెంటులో ప్రవేశపెట్టినా అవసరమైన సంఖ్యాబలం లేనందున రాజ్యసభలో పాస్ చేయించుకోలేకపోయింది. దీంతో మోడీ సర్కారు ఆర్డినెన్స్‌ తీసుకొచ్చింది.
