Thousands of mostly young demonstrators have been marching towards Hong Kong's Causeway Bay district.

The theme of the protest is opposition to what they say is brutality by police, who have used tear gas and rubber bullets on protesters at past demonstrations.

Some protesters also waved flags calling for independence for Hong Kong.

The unauthorised demonstration seems to have attracted little police presence so far.
