A Urinary Tract Infection(UTI) is an infection from the microbes. UTI is more common in women than in men. One out of every two women suffers from UTI and there is an increased risk of getting a UTI when you have already had it once. The symptom of a bladder infection includes painful urination and a burning sensation as well as a need to urinate frequently, making day-to-day life difficult. Prevention is always better than cure and here are a few things you can do to avoid an UTI: 1. Drink plenty of liquids, especially water 2. Urinate frequently 3. Opt for cotton under-garments 4. Take showers instead of baths If you believe you have a UTI, it is recommended to visit a doctor and have a urine test performed. Depending on the circumstances, the treatment can last from 5 to 7 days.
