Rip currents are always a hazard when strong wind conditions meet piers and breakwaters on the Great Lakes, such as in South Haven, Michigan at Lake Michigan. Conditions have calmed down since Monday, July 22, but here we have information from Owen Ridley, South Haven Fire Captain on the the flags and warnings they use.
