Pet care became a $225 billion business in North America during 2018. According to Business Insider, the number is expected to reach $281 billion by 2023. Companies are doing all sorts of things to capitalize on the growing pet trend. Walmart added vet clinics to 100 stores and Petco created kitchens where people can buy meals for pets prepared by chefs. Purina Treats’ senior brand manager said millennials pushed this trend forward as they delay marriage and instead get pets.
