A man suspected of boating under the influence made a bad choice when he decided to flee law enforcement.
According to Newser, Oregon resident Robert Callahan jumped into the waters of Lake Shasta, rather than taking a sobriety test.
He made it about 50 yards before asking a deputy to come pluck him out of the California lake.
Once on the patrol boat, the 31-year-old was shown to have a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.29%.
Callahan was booked into Shasta County Jail, as was the boat's owner.
