Google Is Testing a New Play Button for Chrome The new play button for Chrome will allow users to pause videos or music playing in a tab. Canary, Chrome’s development browser,
is running a trial of the feature
called Global Media Controls. The button will appear next to the URL field and will show a list of what’s playing once clicked. The new feature is said to make browsing easier for avid users of YouTube, Vimeo and Spotify. The release for the feature is undecided, but can be tested by downloading Canary.
