Here’s How Much the US Women’s Team
Earned During the 2019 World Cup The US women’s national team recently won
the 2019 Women's World Cup in a 2-0 game
against the Netherlands on July 7. With their win came a $4 million payout, an amount
that is significantly less than the $38 million awarded
to the winners of the 2018 Men's World Cup. According to ‘The Guardian,’ each member of the
23 person roster is expected to receive approximately
$110,000 from the awarded prize money. On top of that, each player earned $3,000 for each
qualifying game won, which came out to $15,000 each. They also each received $37,500 for qualifying for
the tournament, as well as an additional $37,500
bonus for each member of the team’s final roster. LUNA Bar donated an additional $718,750 to ensure
that the women took home the same roster bonus as the
men, which means an additional $31,250 per player. Finally, the women are scheduled to embark on a
four-game victory tour following the World Cup,
from which each player will receive $60,869. This brings each player’s total earnings from
the World Cup to approximately $292,119 each.
