Fingerless S. Korean climber has reached summit of 13 of the 14 mountains higher than 8,000m

South Korean climber Kim Hong-bin, …who lost all of his fingers to frostbite in 1991, has succeeded in reaching the summit of 13 of the 14 mountains in the world that are higher than 8-thousand meters.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Association for the Disabled, Kim reached the top of the world's 11th highest mountain, Gasherbrum One, on Sunday.
With this, he has scaled 13 of the 14 mountains over eight-thousand meters above sea level in the Himalayan region.
Kim plans to climb the final eight-thousander and become the world's first handicapped climber to conquer all 14 of them by next year.
He has already completed the Seven Summits Challenge by scaling the highest peaks on the world's seven continents.
