Ruslan Abdullah, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) director for science and environment, said that the European palm oil ban is hypocritical.

Citing examples of supermarkets in the UK he said they portrayed palm oil as being bad in their marketing but still have products that contained palm oil.

He also pointed out how their products marketed in this part of the world had no labels and questioned if a product that is not safe for Europeans is safe for Asians.
