A trainee snake catcher was filmed showing off his skills in front of a crowd in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, Indonesia.

Footage captured on July 2 shows Muamar Syaidah, 21, bringing a huge king cobra under control by using a metal stick and his bare hands.

Muamar Syaidah often performs shows for locals in the area with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of these species.
