Jonny Bairstow scored his second consecutive century while Jason Roy scored yet another fifty to provide England with a brilliant start during their ICC World Cup 2019 encounter against New Zealand. However, the hosts wasted their early advantage as for the Kiwis, Trent Boult, Matt Henry and Jimmy Neesham struck twice while Mitchell Santner took one wicket. Earlier, England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first. Tim Southee came in for Lockie Ferguson, and Matt Henry replaced Ish Sodhi in the New Zealand playing XI, while England fielded an unchanged.
