Following the Kim-Xi summit, the U.S. State Department says Washington is ready to negotiate with Pyeongyang without any preconditions.
Addressing reporters on Friday, the State Department said the U.S. together with its allies and China are committed to the shared goal of achieving the final, full and verifiable denuclearization of North Korea.
The announcement reaffirms U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun's remarks made earlier this week, where he said the door is wide open for dialogue with the North and that no conditions are attached.
