Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and
RJ Barrett Highlight 2019 NBA Draft The 2019 NBA Draft took place
on Thursday night. Duke's Zion Williamson was drafted No. 1 overall
by the New Orleans Pelicans as expected. Ja Morant from Murrary State went
No. 2 to the Memphis Grizzlies, and Wiliamson's Duke teammate, RJ Barrett,
was drafted by the New York Knicks at No. 3. The Pelicans traded the No. 4 pick, acquired
from the Lakers via the Anthony Davis trade,
to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks drafted De'Andre Hunter
from Virginia and the Pelicans took
Jaxson Hayes from Texas at No. 8. Vanderbilt's Darius Garland, Texas Tech's
Jarrett Culver and UNC's Coby White
were the No. 5, No. 6 and No. 7 picks. Duke's Cam Reddish was drafted by the Hawks
at No. 10, giving Duke three picks in the top 10. Duke was the second school ever to accomplish
this feat, following Florida in 2007, when Al Horford, Corey Brewer and
Joakim Noah were all top-10 selections. The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Darius Bazley at
No. 24. Bazley signed a deal with New Balance and sat out last season instead of playing in college.
