India Will Overtake China as
Most Populous Country The United Nations reports that India's population will surpass China's in less than 10 years. China and India account for 37% of the 7.7 billion global population. China's population is 1.4 billion while India's is 1.3 billion. China's population is expected to shrink by 31.4 million from 2019
to 2050. This will make China's population
1.1 billion, less than the 1.5 billion predicted for India. The report projects the global population will be 9.7 billion by 2050.
