Russian president Vladimir Putin has slammed the United States for what he calls its attempts to push China's telecom giant Huawei out of the global market.
Speaking Friday at the St. Petersburg International Forum, which was also attended by his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, Putin denounced Washington for recruiting its allies to blacklist Huawei.
He said that the U.S. has sought to impose its authority on countries around the world, which he said was contrary to the logic of normal cooperation among states.
He noted that some have called it the first technological war of the new digital era, and stressed that Russia supports economic relations that are democratic.
