$19.1 Billion Disaster Aid Bill While aboard Air Force One,
President Trump signed the Disaster Aid Bill into law. The bill will provide $19.1 billion in aid to
communities across the U.S. that have been
affected by hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and fires. $2.4 billion will go towards community
development, $3 billion given to the Agriculture
Department and $720 million to the Forest Service. $1.4 billion will also go towards Puerto Rico,
as they continue to recover from the 2017
devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. Donald Trump,

stalled in Congress for months as Democrats
and Republicans fought over funding. Trump himself previously accused
the Puerto Rican government of
mismanagement after the hurricane, as well as incorrectly claimed the U.S. territory
had already received $91 billion in aid. Donald Trump,

responding as quickly to the disaster as he did
weeks prior when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas.
