DMZ 평화의길 도보 동서횡단구간 2022년 조성
South Korea is planning to build a hiking trail from one end of the demilitarized zone to the other by 2022... as part of efforts to create several tourists spots along the inter-Korean border.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety says the government is setting aside more than 24 million U.S. dollars to connect the existing Peace Trails in Goseong on the east coast, Cheorwon closer to the middle and Paju in the west.
From end to end it'll be 501 kilometers long.
Along the trail will be lodging, restaurants and shops selling local specialties for tourists.
