‘Lemang periuk kera’, or pitcher plant lemang - a dish made by steaming glutinous rice and coconut milk within the pitcher of the plant, is becoming increasingly popular in recent years especially during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
However, conservationists and nature lovers are concerned that widespread harvest of the plant may lead to extinction of the species.
