South Korea's parliamentary speaker Moon Hee-sang has called on Russia to persuade North Korea to take the path of a normal state.
Moon gave a speech at Russia's Senate on Wednesday... which was the first for a South Korean parliamentary speaker.
He said,.... resolving the North Korean nuclear issue and establishing peace on the peninsula,... requires efforts not just from the two Koreas and the U.S.,... but also the international community, including Russia.
Adding that peace on the peninsula would also pave the way for trilateral cooperation between Moscow and the two Koreas.... he hoped to boost exchanges and dialogue to strengthen Seoul-Moscow relations.
The two countries mark 30 years of diplomatic ties next year.
Moon now heads to Estonia after wrapping up his Russia trip.
