Indie-electro trio, Vök had lots to say when they sat down and had a chat with the AU review's Editor-in-Chief, Larry Heath during their run at The Great Escape. The three-piece were enthusiastic about the gloomy weather that was brought in Brighton, Sussex reminding them fondly of home, "I went for a walk in the rain and I immediately loved the city."
After already playing some showcases, the band had already done festival shows in other parts of Europe - Netherlands and Norway to a name a few. Having a tight 30-minute set, it was clear that the band had much to offer to the crowd as they struggled to compile their setlist, "The crowds tend to be more in and out when checking out stuff so we have to bring our A-game. We had to sacrifice some stuff that we really wanted to play."
Vök were pretty stoked that they were able to promote their latest EP, Circles and explains how their sound has evolved throughout the recording process, "The new EP was done by ourselves from the oldest studios in Iceland and it was recorded in a couple of months. The entire concept formed while we were doing it. Our sound is still kind of evolving and it's very different. It's a lot more intricate versus the minimalistic approach - we quite like it."
