PKR president Anwar Ibrahim believes the current Umno-PAS cooperation will start to fray closer to the next general election due to differences in their policies and ideologies.
"When it is nearer to the general election, there will be arguments... over their policies and ideas," he told reporters after chairing a parliamentary caucus on reforms and governance meeting in Parliament today.
Anwar was responding to a question about claims that the alliance was still being questioned by grassroots members of both parties.
It was previously reported that a draft joint charter for cooperation between Umno and PAS had been submitted to leaders of the respective parties.
