The historically significant gas lamps atop the Duddell street steps have appeared in many different films and videos over the years but have now unfortunately been damaged by Typhoon Mangkut.

The gas lamps have been working since 1967 and have made appearances in numerous films and videos over the years as they are one of Hong Kong's most iconic sites and attractions.

Damaged in 2018 by super typhoon Magkut, the worst Typhoon Hong Kong has seen in 30 years the gas lamps were destroyed.
