Donald Trump Asserts
Executive Privilege Over
Unredacted Mueller Report Trump has used his executive power to prevent
the full disclosure of Robert Mueller’s report. The order was delivered to the House Judiciary
Committee just as they were voting on whether to
hold AG William Barr in contempt of Congress. Trump’s move is in retribution for the
committee’s refusal to postpone their vote,
as requested by the Justice Department. Sarah Sanders,
via statement Trump’s decision is considered a
“protective assertion” of privilege
and will allow him to decide what
information will be withheld. This does not cast Trump in a
favorable light, as he has consistently
remarked that the report offered him
“complete and total exoneration.” Jerry Nadler, chair of the committee, reaffirmed
their stance in the matter, saying nobody
“can be permitted to be above the law.” Jerry Nadler,
