The deputy nuclear envoys of South Korea and Russia met in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss the latest developments surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
Officials say Jeong Yeon-doo, director-general of the North Korean Nuclear Affairs Bureau at Seoul's foreign ministry met with his Russian counterpart Oleg Bur-mi-strov and Russia's deputy foreign minister, Igor Morgulov, who oversees the Kremlin's Asia-Pacific affairs.
Seoul's foreign ministry said the two sides reaffirmed the common goal of establishing ever-lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula and achieving North Korea's complete denuclearization.
Seoul and Moscow also agreed to maintain the momentum for dialogue among the concerned parties and to focus on exerting efforts to resume Pyeongyang-Washington talks.
