New Footage Leaked of Sandra Bland's Arrest The 2015 video was taken by the
28-year-old while
getting arrested by
Texas officer
Brian Encinia. The footage was released by Dallas' WFAA
and nonprofit Investigative Network. According to authorities, Bland's arrest stemmed from a confrontation with Encinia over a traffic stop. Authorities have ruled her death a suicide by hanging, but the incident sparked outrage nationwide. Bland's family has called for the investigation to be restarted after the video surfaced this week. In the footage, Encinia threatens Bland, "I will light you up. Get out. Now." He can also be seen with a stun gun
while continuing
to yell at her. Encinia had previously claimed that he
feared for his life in the confrontation with Bland. He has since been removed from law enforcement and is in a new line of work.
