Barely a month after making inflammatory comments about homosexuals following the terrorist massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, a Georgia pastor is in jail for allegedly molesting a boy under 16 years old.

Ken Adkins, 65, is being held in the Glynn County Detention Center without bond on one count each of child molestation and aggravated child molestation, jail records show. The St. Simons Island resident turned himself in at about 9 a.m. Friday at the detention center, located off U.S. Highway 341, said Stacy Carson, special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Kingsland office.

He is being represented by attorney Kevin Gough, the former Brunswick Judicial Circuit Public Defender. Gough said the allegations stem from incidents that are alleged to have occurred in 2010. The alleged offenses are said to have occurred at Adkins’ Greater Church on Altama Ave. in Brunswick, as well as in a vehicle and various other places, Carson said. She would not reveal further information, citing the ongoing investigation.
