House Dems to
Hold Contempt Vote
After AG Barr Misses
Mueller Report Deadline William Barr missed the
9am Monday deadline to provide
Congress the unredacted version
of the special counsel's report. Democratic members
of the House Judiciary Committee
said they intend to hold the vote on Wednesday. The vote will decide
whether or not to hold
the Attorney General in
contempt of Congress. Republican members
of the committee
accused the Democrats
of "smearing" Barr. Last week, the Attorney General
declined to testify before the
House Judiciary Committee. The move prompted some
Democratic members of
the committee to refer
to Barr as "chicken." One member brought a bucket
of KFC to the proceedings,
eating it across from the empty
chair intended for the Attorney General. The House Judiciary Committee
has proposed May 15 for Robert
Mueller to testify before Congress.
