김정남 살해 혐의 베트남 여성 출소…오늘 저녁 귀국 전망
A Vietnamese woman accused of killing Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of the North Korean leader, is released.
According to Malaysian media, Doan Thi Huong returned home on Friday afternoon after being imprisoned in Malaysia for two years.
In 2017, Huong and her co-defendant Siti Aisyah were detained after being accused of killing Kim Jong-nam by smearing a lethal nerve agent on his face at Kuala Lumpur airport.
The two claimed they were tricked by four North Korean men into believing it was part of a reality TV show prank.
Huong's release comes a month after prosecutors downgraded her murder charges to "causing injury," and about two months since her co-defendant was released.
