A lovely aerial top angle building-top shot of Connaught Place, with a clear view of Jantar Mantar observatory, LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) building and the CP skyline.

Connaught Place also known as CP (officially Rajiv Chowk) is one of the largest financial, commercial and business hub of Delhi. Named after the Duke of Connaught, a member of the British royal family. Designed by Robert Tor Russell in collaboration with WH Nicholls, the construction work began in 1929 and completed in 1933. It was renamed as the Rajiv Chowk after the late Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The architecture followed a well planned and well structured market in the shape of a horseshoe. The reason behind such a circular structure was that it would be beneficial for both the shopkeepers and the shoppers. Apart from being the commercial and business hub of Delhi, CP has countless restaurants, watering holes, shops and emporia and cinema halls too. Hence, the beauty of CP attracts everyone for both their love for shopping and entertainment. Besides, Connaught place also houses branches of all the major Nationalized and International banks, along with the offices of tour operators. Almost all international brands available in India are along the inner circle: Benetton, Allen Solly, Reebok, Nike, Addidas, Levi's, Lee Cooper, Woodland-- the list goes on.

The Central Park is located in Connaught Place and the Metro Station is underneath it. It's often filled with people working in CP and nearby areas apart from the huge number of shoppers and tourists. Rest assured, the market remains closed on Sundays.
Cannaught Place can be easily located in the map of Delhi.
